Steelers: Super Bowl Champs

Sunday, February 5th, 2006

Congrats to my favorite NFL football team the Pittsburgh Steelers, who tonight beat the Seattle Seahawks to win Super Bowl XL! It’s been a long 26 years since their last NFL title, but it’s been well worth it. Bill Cowher has worked long and hard to bring the title back to Pittsburgh, so congrats to him and their outstanding season. After the Steelers lost 3 straight to go to 7-5, I was a little worried; but they went on a great run and proved that they are the true champs. Here’s to returning for a repeat next season.

Steelers Pull it Out

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

I’ve been saying for weeks now that the Steelers would beat the Colts…and it turns out I was right! The Steelers have really turned it on since they’re 3 game losing streak in the middle of the season, and are r2 eally playing well. I feel a lot better about their Super Bowl chances in this year’s AFC Championship game against the Broncos than I did last year against the Patrios, since they’re playing much better this year. I’m gonna go ahead and predict a win over the Broncos next Sunday (nobody outruns the Steelers), and then a win in the Super Bowl 2 weeks after that. You heard it here first!

longhorns!

Congrats to the University of Texas Longhorns on their amazing victory last night over USC for the college football national championship! I watched every UT game this year, and was impressed all season with their skill, heart, and determination. I’ve been predicting for the past month that they would win, and they proved me right. I’m not sure that they were a better team, but they certainly pulled it out in the end and got the win. I haven’t seen a game that exciting since the Ohio State/Miami matchup a few years ago, and I know that I have never seen a better college football player than Vince Young. It’s nice to see all of their hard work and determination pay off.

steelers disappoint…again

Monday, January 24th, 2005

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!! The Steelers lost to the Patriots once again in the AFC Championship game, denying them a trip to the Super Bowl. That’s makes it 4 out of the last 5 AFC championship games the Steelers have lost, at home no less. For some reason they just can’t get good QB play in the championship game. I used to think it was because Kordell Stewart and Neil O’Donnell sucked, but Big Ben blew it this time also (the defense didn’t play well either). If we could just get a QB to have a good game, we’d trounce all these teams. Hopefully Ben will do the job next time (next year). Or maybe we can trade for Brady??
