1999-present	DELL COMPUTER CORPORATION			ROUND ROCK, TX
2004-present	Technical Project Lead, SUSE Linux Program. Responsible for
		leading the engineering development process for SUSE Linux
 		Enterprise Server on PowerEdge servers.
		- Responsible for leading the Dell/Novell technical
		  relationship 
		- Lead team of 5 people t o test, qualify, and certify SUSE
		  Linux Enterprise Server 9 on PowerEdge servers. With no
		  previous experience or relationship with SUSE, completed
		  first set of system qualifications and certifications 2.5
		  months after program began, on-time and under budget

2001-present	Lead Workstation Engineer, Linux Solutions Development.
		- Responsible for leading the engineering development process
		  for Red Hat Enterprise Linux on all new Precision
		  workstation platforms and peripherals.
		- Responsible for directing all test and development efforts
		  for Red Hat Linux on Precision Workstations, including new
		  operating systems, new hardware platforms, all peripherals,
		  and third-party device drivers
		- Responsible for driving hardware vendors to release Linux
		  device driver support for all new platforms and peripherals.
		  Reduced the average lag time between initial new hardware
		  release (with Windows support) and Linux support for that
		  new hardware from four months to almost zero. In most cases
		  was able to provide full Linux support for new hardware at
		  initial hardware release. 
		- Responsible for the development of RPMs delivered to
		  customers for device drivers not included in the Linux
		  kernel 
		- Major contributor to dell-precision and dell-poweredge
		  customer mailing lists
		- Managed and directed the transition of the engineering side
		  of the Precision Linux program from a rogue, nonstandard
		  engineering process to integrating the operating system into
		  the standard Precision engineering release/sustaining
		  processes 

2000-2003	Lead Test Engineer, Linux Solutions Development. 
		- Responsible for leading Dell’s test efforts for all new Red
		  Hat Linux operating systems on PowerEdge Servers and
		  Precision Workstations.
		- Managed and directed the efforts of four test technicians in
		  Austin and three test engineers in Dell’s Offshore
		  Development Center in India.
		- Directed the development of the Linux Test Suite, a set of
		  open-source tools customized and packaged for Linux testing
		  at Dell. 
		- Managed the transition and ongoing efforts of 50% of the
		  Linux Solutuons Development group's test resources to the
		  offshore development site in India
		- Found severity 1 and 2 bugs an average of 30% sooner during
		  test cycles through improvements in test coverage, test
		  automation, and overall test processes

1999-2000	Manufacturing Product Engineer, Dell Americas Operations.
		- Managed release of new preinstalled software and peripherals
		  products into Dell’s manufacturing process for the
		  PowerEdge and Precision product lines in Dell’s Americas
		  region.
		- Increased efficiency of software product introduction pilots
		  by 50% by improving and formalizing the pre-pilot planning
		  process.
		- Documented Dell’s important manufacturing IT processes and
		  created a training program for manufacturing engineers and
		  new hires to transfer knowledge of how information flows
		  within Dell’s factories
		- Reduced average cycle time for new software pilots from 5
		  days to 3 days through creation of pilot system reuse process
